UNIFORMED SECURITY OFFICERS TRAINING COURSE
The effective performance of the uniformed Security Officer is the cornerstone of the security industry. The Uniformed Security Officers Basic Training course has been designed to conform to the requirements of the Canadian General Standards Board. This introductory course prepares the participant for immediate employment as a competent and effective Security Officer within the industry. The training modules develop the level of knowledge and aptitude that is essential for professional uniformed security services. In addition, uniformed Security Officers must reflect the highest standards in the performance of duty, appearance, alertness, sensitivity, courtesy, and intelligence. These qualities only achieved through good training.
This five-day course covers all the skills and information required to perform the basic duties of the uniformed Security Officer in a variety of scenarios and work conditions. Additionally, this course can be broken down into modules for the student under time constraints who wants to build his or her skills. These modules will allow for more intensive instruction over a longer period of time. Primarily the Uniformed Security basic course has been developed to meet the entry needs of anyone seeking employment within the security industry.
Training Objectives
The aim of this course is to provide each participant with a thorough understanding of the physical security and regulatory requirements for uniformed security service.
Enrolment Prerequisites
This program is open to all persons with an intention of future involvement in the security industry. Participants will be subjected to a background check prior to the commencement of training. This course is registered with the Ministry of Education (PVSA) branch and HRDC Interactive Training Inventory (ITI). Assisted funding may be available for candidates who qualify. The Globe Risk Institute reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone who might use information from our program for purposes other than intended.

This five-day course builds on the skills gained on the basic course and covers all the skills and information required to perform the greater range of duties required in the more complex and challenging situations and work conditions of today’s uniformed security industry. Primarily the Uniformed Security Officer advanced course has been developed to meet the needs anyone seeking to improve their security skill-set to get a head start over their individual competition or for existing employees in preparation for promotion.

Conforming to the current requirements of the Canadian General Standards Board, this course prepares the participant for immediate employment as a Security Supervisor within the uniformed security industry. Both contract security and proprietary security services require supervisors that are competent to manage the interrelated elements of manpower and technology.
